President John Evans Atta Mills has nominated Mr Adam Banabelsera Yousif for appointment as West Mamprusi District Chief Executive.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development in Accra on Tuesday.

The district has lacked a D.C.E for the past four months following the dismissal of the Former D.C.E Sulley Zakari’s in May by President Mills, in his absence the Northern Regional Minister was directed to exercise oversight responsibility over the district.

The nominee, Adam Yousif’s confirmation as the substantive District Chief Executive for West Mamprusi will be subject to approval by the Assembly who are expected to soon vote to either approve or reject his nomination.

Mr. Adam Yussif affectionately called Mandela is a well recognized and respect person in the district and in the N.D.C party and also currently the acting chairman of the Mamprugu Youth Association (MAYA).

Mr. Adam Yussif played a leading and effective role was in the 2008 elections which the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won.

His appointment has been welcomed by many of the residents of West Mamprusi and he is expected to get the needed support of the inhabitants in working to ensure the development of the area.
