The Planning Officer for the Kpando District Assembly, Mr. Frederick akitti has described the first Volta Investment Fair as well organised and potronized but said certain aspects could be improved for districts to achieve more.
He suggested that district assemblies should be given the chance during lectures to speak about their potential and visions aside the exhibitions that take place.
He expressed disappointment that people who should be present, the day district assemblies were to meet investors for discussion, were absent and most assemblies had to take advantage of exhibition periods for such discussions.
He was however optimistic that their interractions will pay a great deal as investors have shown great interests with some even making follow-ups during the fair.
More significantly, he said was with white clay which he said was in large quantity and said an investor who already has an establishment in the country said he had that high on his agenda. The investor thus promised to hold more talks with the assembly next two weeks for further discussions.
Another area he was hopeful would yield good results is the agriculture sector in which he said a pawpaw plantation in the district which is doing well has received some interests and a number of investors have signalled their preparedness to get into that venture and this he said will go a long way to employ a number of people in the district.
