The District Chief Executive for Dormaa East, Hon I.K Kyeremeh has admonished the appalling rate at which public toilets are managed in the area.

The District Chief Executive for Dormaa East, Hon I.K Kyeremeh has admonished the appalling rate at which public toilets are managed in the area.

To this end, the Assembly is to put in place measures to improve sanitation in the district thereby reducing the high incidence of diseases in the area.

"We have met with operators of the facilities to streamline their operations. We are also going to renovate the various public toilets so that our people will have a clean place of convenience to avoid haphazard defecation", he said.

Hon. Kyeremeh noted that communities that attach seriousness to the development of
their towns and villages would benefit immensely from his administration.

The DCE announced that there would be an  awards ceremony for individuals and communities which excelled, adding that sanitation would be prominent among the list of criteria.

He therefore encouraged them to be up to the task and have a full sense of communal spirit to enable the district develop.
