Prah River Golf Links, a magnifi­cent wholly-owned private course, was last Friday, November 6, 2009, unveiled at Shama in the Western Region.

It is part of an ongoing Shama Beach Resort Limited development of a modern recreational and tourist facility with a hostel, a swimming pool, a sauna, squash tennis and other amenities for the family.

Immediate past president of the Ghana Golf Association, Professor G.W.K. Instiful, a medical practioner, and his wife, Araba, are the sole own­ers of this facility, the third after Celebrity and Windy Bay at Winneba.

The unveiling ceremony of Prah River Golf Links was witnessed by government officials   and traditional rulers.

A two-day invitational tournament involving more than 100 male and lady golfers from across the country, engaged in an exciting tournament to mark the ceremony.

The current president of the Ghana Golfers Association, Dr F.K. Frim pong, captains of golf clubs, especially from the Western Region, Takora-di, Darman, Benso Ankobra, amons others, will grace the occasion.
