SHAMA : NADMO presents relief items to Shama flood victims
The Shama District Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has presented relief items to people who were affected by the recent floods in the area.

The Shama District Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has presented relief items to people who were affected by the recent floods in the area.
The District Co-ordinator of NADMO, Mr Alex Adu-Boahene supervised the distribution of the items at Atseremboanda, Krobo, Adjoakrom, Supomu Dunkwa, Anlo Beach, Apo Shama and Anlo Kwesi.
The items include bags of rice, blankets, mosquito nets, mattresses, cooking oil, lanterns, soap, cups, plates, water purifiers and second hand clothing.
Staff of NADMO also pitched tents at Krobo Junction for the displaced people.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency Mr Adu-Boahene said some of the beneficiaries lost all their property while others had their food crops destroyed.
Mr Adu-Boahene said communities which were very close to the River Pra were submerged when the river burst its banks.
He said main roads leading to the affected communities were cut off, while the inhabitants were evacuated to other localities.
Mr Adu-Boahene said a joint search and rescue operation conducted by personnel of the Western Naval Command and the Rapid Response Team from Accra saved lives.
