Three hundred and forty-two bags of maize meant for the 2007 flood victims in the Kassena Nankana District of the Upper East Region, have gone bad.
   
This was detected after the Assembly requested for maize that have been in the stores of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) at Navrongo in the District, for distribution to 2009 flood victims in the area.
   
At a press briefing at Navrongo, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Emmanuel Andema explained that after the recent floods, the Assembly formed a team to take census of the affected persons for distribution of relief items but it was realised that the maize had gone bad.
  
He said a report was immediately made to the Regional Minister who suggested that it should be sold out as animal feed at 5 Ghana Cedis per bag.
   
The District NADMO Coordinator, Mr. Roland Ayalazoya said when he assumed office, the realised that relief items including 30 bags of cement had gone bad.
