According to the MCE, the market is expected to provide a dedicated trading environment for businesses and traders while creating employment opportunities, particularly for the youth.
Hon. Francis Akumatey Addo indicated that the Assembly would provide the necessary infrastructure, security and regulatory support to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and create a conducive environment for traders and other businesses.
He noted that the availability of appropriate infrastructure and effective security arrangements would be essential to attracting traders, encouraging investment and sustaining commercial activities beyond the usual trading hours.
The MCE further expressed optimism that the market would contribute to increasing the Assembly’s internally generated funds through commercial activities and related revenue streams.
He emphasised that the project would not only support existing traders but could also open up opportunities for young people to engage in trading, logistics, transportation and other businesses associated with the market.
The 24-Hour Economy Market forms part of broader efforts to promote economic activity and expand opportunities for businesses and residents.
Hon. Francis Akumatey Addo reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to providing the necessary support to help the facility achieve its intended objectives of job creation, increased local revenue and improved economic opportunities for the people of Yilo Krobo.
