The purpose of the visit was twofold: to formally introduce the DCE to Nananom and to engage the traditional leadership on key developmental matters concerning the district.

In his address, the Ashanti regional Minister emphasized the strategic importance of Atwima Mponua to the overall development agenda of the Ashanti Region. He conveyed the President’s directive to take stock of all abandoned projects within the district and ensure their swift resumption.

He further outlined plans to roll out the District Common Assembly Fund (DCAF) effectively, with a focus on impactful projects such as the proposed 24-hour market, which will include essential facilities like shops, a police and fire station, and a lorry terminal.

He called on the traditional leaders, as custodians of the land, to offer their support for these transformative initiatives.

Nana Amanpene Boateng Twum II commended the delegation for the visit and the respect accorded the traditional council. He urged political leaders to always act with posterity in mind, avoid partisanship that breeds division, and focus on lasting legacies.

The chief also passionately appealed for urgent attention to the Nyinahin Sports Complex, which has been left idle since 2021, and for the swift completion of the Agenda 111 health project. He pledged the full support of the traditional council, including making land available for any development-focused initiatives. Nana Twum Boateng also beseeched the Minsiter to expedite the mining of Nyinahin Bauxtie which is an economic game changer for the country and will also create employment.

The visit ended on a hopeful note, with a shared commitment between government officials and traditional leadership to fast-track development for the benefit of the people of Atwima Mponua.
