In the Kintampo Municipality made up of different traditional and different ethnic groups, the minster’s first port of call was the Paramount Chief of the Mo-Traditional Council, Nana Kwesi Dankwa III, before proceeding to others including Nana Fayenamah palace who is the president of the Wangara Chefs in Ghana; the palace of Nana Awoti Kufour palace, the Woasi Chief for Kintampo who was represented by Nana Goakro III, the Kronkohene of the Nkoranza Traditional Area and the palace of the Dagomba Chief for Kintampo Naa Zakari Musah.


According to the Regional Minister Mr. Owusu, “my visit was to introduce himself to the chiefs and people of Kintampo municipality and to inform them of some government programme and policies which are to take place in the Municipality by the president of the Republic of Ghana, John Daramani which would be monitored by him and our Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Isaac Donkor.

All chiefs expressed gratitude for the nomination of Mr. Isaac Donkor as the Municipal Chief Executive for Kintampo Municipal Assembly.

The chiefs raised the issue of land disputes in the municipality and called on the regional minister to help bring solutions to them for peace in the municipality.They did not mince words on the lack of development in the area particularly with social amenities including roads, water among others.  They thus urged the minister to help elevate the status of their road networks and provide them with potable water, upgrading of the Collage of health and well-being into a university status.

The Regional Minster in his address also outlined the projects the government has in stock for the people of Kintampo such as; Construction of  Asantekwa to Ayewuya road, installation of traffic lights at new market junction, construction of primary and KG block at Buseama, and Nana Effah primary school, CHPS compound at Alhassankura and Candigre, an ultra-modern toilet and bath facility at the Kintampo Government Hospital, Re-set 24-hour Economy Market at the old market - VIP station as the suggested place.

The Regional Minister Mr. Francis Owusu could not have end his address without talking about the peace of Kintampo Municipality saying, “for every development and youth empowerment as a tool of every area, district and region we need peace to enable us work for the development we need. Let’s remain peaceful and united as one”.
