The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Engineer Abdullah Hamidu, disclosed that the proposed facility would bring together various mechanical and artisan services under one centralised location to improve access to technical services and support local businesses.

The hub is expected to offer services such as vehicle repairs and maintenance, servicing of agricultural machinery and practical technical skills training for artisans and young people.

According to the Assembly, the initiative is aimed at reducing the cost of mechanical repairs, creating employment opportunities and improving productivity across the district.

The proposed facility is also expected to provide a structured and conducive working environment for local artisans to expand their businesses, improve their operations and deliver quality services.

Beyond providing mechanical services, the project is expected to serve as a skills development centre where young people can acquire practical technical knowledge and competencies to establish businesses and secure sustainable livelihoods.

The initiative forms part of the Assembly's broader strategy to promote local industrialisation, strengthen small-scale enterprises and create economic opportunities for residents.

The DCE said when successfully implemented, the Mechanical Hub is expected to become an important centre for technical skills training, vehicle maintenance, agricultural machinery servicing and artisan enterprise development, contributing to the socio-economic growth of the Bosomtwe District.
