The announcement was made by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mrs. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, alongside the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, Mr. Kofi Amankwah-Manu.

The official commissioning of the hospital took place at its premises at Twedie during a brief but colourful ceremony attended by clergy, traditional leaders, heads of security services, health workers, and members of the public.

The hospital is part of a national initiative under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to expand access to healthcare across the country.

The ultramodern, fully equipped facility boasts a 40-bed capacity and is among several district hospital projects in the Ashanti Region commissioned by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in late 2024.

Mrs. Asamoah urged health professionals at the facility to adopt a customer-friendly approach in their service delivery to help public confidence of clients as they commence operations.

“I want all of you to understand that the facility is not only property of the government but for all of us and that we all have a duty to ensure its longevity and maintenance,” she emphasised

Mr. Amankwah-Manu also extended his appreciation to former President Akufo-Addo for granting the district both the Twedie District Hospital and the Agenda 111 Hospital at Trede.

He explained that the slight delay in the hospital’s opening was due to the need for intensive training of staff on the new equipment to ensure proficiency before operations began.

He pointed out that the facility is not for the people of Twedie but the entire Atwima Kwanwoma District and beyond.

The MP urged staff of the hospital to work diligently to make the facility truly hospitable, stressing that without dedication and commitment, the beautiful   Dr. Esther Serwaa Agbedenu, the Medical Superintendent, described the opening of the hospital as the beginning of a new chapter in quality healthcare delivery for the district.

She expressed gratitude to political leaders, traditional authorities, and all stakeholders who contributed to making the hospital a reality.
