" Amansie South District Assembly Partners with Asanko Gold Mine to Improve Road Infrastructure

The Amansie South District Assembly in the Ashanti Region has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Asanko Gold Mining Company on Tuesday, October 20, 2025, under the leadership of Hon. Benjamin Marfo, the District Chief Executive (DCE).

The partnership aims to tackle the poor road networks in the area.

As part of the agreement, Asanko Gold Mine donated GH? 122,000.00 to facilitate the use of DRIP machines in reshaping roads within the company's catchment area.

During the presentation of the cheque, Dr. Daniel Twumasi, Environmental and Sustainability Manager of Asanko Gold Mining Company, urged the Assembly to utilize the funds for the intended purpose.

The DCE, Hon. Benjamin Marfo, expressed gratitude to the management of Asanko Gold Mine and appealed for further support to other communities within the district to ensure most roads are motorable.

He was optimistic that the partnership would lead to improved road infrastructure, enabling farmers to easily transport their produce to the market, and assured Dr. Twumasi that the funds would be used for the specified project.
