Hon. Francis Akumatey Addo also called on parents, teachers and school authorities to support students to take advantage of the competition and showcase their academic potential.
The essay competition, which focuses on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Ghana’s education system, provides students with an opportunity to examine how emerging technologies can influence teaching and learning.
The MCE emphasised the importance of encouraging young learners to develop a strong interest in reading, writing and research, noting that such skills are essential for academic growth and future success.
He urged teachers to guide students in understanding the essay topic and help them develop well-structured arguments while allowing them to express their own ideas and perspectives.
Hon. Francis Akumatey Addo further encouraged parents to motivate their children to participate, stressing that support from home and school is important in nurturing young talents and building confidence among learners.
The call forms part of broader efforts to promote literacy and academic excellence among students in the municipality.
The participation of Yilo Krobo students in the challenge is expected to provide them with a platform to demonstrate their knowledge, improve their communication skills and engage critically with the growing influence of technology in education.
