Assembly to launch 24-hour market boosting women and youth businesses

The North Tongu District in the volta Region is set to benefit from a newly introduced 24-hour market, aimed at driving economic growth and providing continuous business opportunities for residents.

This announcement was made by the District Chief Executive, Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, during an interview with Ghanadistricts at Alisa Hotel, Accra.

The market, located at the heart of the district, is designed to support women and youth by offering modern facilities that foster vibrant commercial activities throughout the day and night.

According to the DCE, following the orientation program, stakeholders including women’s groups, traditional authorities, local leaders, and residents will convene to discuss  plans and address any concerns.

She emphasized that any structures identified for demolition will be handled with proper advice and consultation before action is taken. Sanitation has also been highlighted as a top priority for the market’s management to ensure a clean and healthy environment.

The DCE encouraged the community to remain patient and confident, assuring that the authorities are committed to fulfilling their promises for the district’s development.
