Don't misuse what you have been given – DCE advises PwDs

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Pru West in the Bono East Region, Samuel Agyapong, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office has successfully disbursed income generation support to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) within the district.

Hon Samuel Agyapong added that these beneficiaries were carefully vetted and approved by the District Fund Management Committee of the Assembly, ensuring that the support reaches those most in need.

The items disbursed include; fufu pounding machines, chest freezers, Livestock, educational support, medical assistance, as well as cash support.

During the disbursement, Mr. Samuel Agyapong encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the resources judiciously and efficiently; emphasizing the importance of strengthening and growing their small businesses.

He said the disbursement is a significant step towards empowering the PwDs and fostering economic independence in the Pru West District.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to H E John Dramani Mahama, the NDC government and district assembly for the disbursements, highlighting the positive impact the support has on their livelihoods and promoting social inclusion.

Member of Parliament for Pru West, Emmanuel Kofi Ntekunu explained that, the initiative aims to enhance and sustain the existing income-generating activities of the recipients within their respective communities.

Hon. Ntekunu assured the PwD community in Pru West that there is no political interference in the administration of their funds in the district, and that explained why every quarter they receive their share of the District Assembly Common Fund.
