The project, being spearheaded by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Alexander Adu Quist, forms part of efforts to improve market infrastructure, create employment opportunities, and provide a conducive environment for traders and businesses.

According to Municipal Chief Execurtive Alexander Adu Quist, the market project is expected to serve as a major commercial hub for farmers, traders, transport operators, and other business operators across the district and neighboring communities. The facility will provide improved trading spaces and enhance the movement of agricultural produce, which remains the backbone of the district's economy.

Speaking on the initiative, the MCE  noted that the Assembly is committed to expanding economic opportunities for residents through strategic investments in infrastructure. He explained that the 24-hour market concept will support continuous trading activities, improve revenue generation, and contribute to local economic development.

The Assembly has indicated that market infrastructure development remains a priority as part of broader plans to improve internally generated revenue and enhance service delivery. Authorities believe that providing traders with modern facilities will encourage business growth and increase compliance with local tax and levy payments.

Residents and traders have welcomed the project, describing it as a significant step toward addressing long-standing challenges associated with inadequate market facilities. Many expressed optimism that the new market will attract more businesses and investment to the district.

The commencement of the project comes at a time when the Assembly is also reviewing development priorities and implementing strategies aimed at accelerating socio-economic development across the district.

When completed, the 24-hour market is expected to improve trading conditions, create jobs, increase local revenue, and strengthen Juaboso's position as a key commercial centre in the Western North Region.

The Assembly recently announced that the market project has officially moved into the construction stage as part of its development agenda for 2026.
