The District Police Command, established in 2016 to oversee all security operations, continues to operate under difficult conditions that slow down response times and stretch officers beyond capacity. With only nineteen (19) officers stationed across Dzalele and Ave-Dakpa, the command has long struggled to meet the increasing demands of crime prevention, patrol duties, and emergency response.
A key challenge facing the district is the lack of decent office space and adequate staff accommodation. Many officers currently reside in rented rooms scattered across the district, a situation that significantly hampers quick response during emergencies especially at night or in hard-to-reach communities.
The construction of the new Police Headquarters, however, is bringing renewed hope. The facility is expected to centralize police operations, offer proper residential accommodation, and create a more effective environment for officers to work and respond to security issues.
District authorities believe the new headquarters will not only attract more personnel to the area but also strengthen surveillance, boost community safety, and improve the overall visibility of law enforcement.
Residents remain optimistic that with the completion of the new facility, Akatsi North will soon experience faster response times, stronger crime control, and a safer environment for families and businesses.
