The engagement, held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, provided a platform for the Ghana Police Service to outline its security strategy for the polls and receive feedback from political parties.

The political party representatives expressed their appreciation for the engagement and, among other things, called for fairness and transparency in security deployment to build trust in the process.

On August 12, the IGP and his team met with the Electoral Commission (EC) to discuss the broader roadmap for the by-election.

The discussions focused on coordination between the Police and the EC to ensure seamless operations before, during, and after the polls.

The EC also presented its operational plan for the conduct of the election.

In a similar vein, the Police engaged the Institute of Democratic Governance (IDEG) on August 13 at the National Police Headquarters.

IDEG raised concerns regarding electoral security, transparency, and the importance of stakeholder collaboration in maintaining public confidence.

The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to continued stakeholder engagement and finalising operational preparations to uphold peace, law, and order throughout the electoral process.
