He highlighted significant strides in streetlight maintenance, citing the restoration of approximately 150 streetlights along key areas like Prof. Atta Mills High Street and Independence Avenue, which enhances security and mobility.

The Rawlings Park area also received a facelift with road repairs.

In sanitation, Mayor Allotey reported that Accra generates about 1,800 tons of waste daily, with 80% (1,440 tons) being collected.

Efforts are ongoing to manage solid waste and clear choked drains across sub-metros. He emphasized the removal of unauthorized billboards and signage in specific areas to restore order and visual integrity.

Addressing safety, 165 drain covers were replaced to prevent accidents, including 60 metal covers, 50 wooden gratings, and 50 concrete slabs, particularly around Rawlings Park.

The 'Clean Accra Now' Initiative, a 24-hour cleaning cycle, has been introduced to maintain cleanliness consistently.

Furthermore, the Red Line Initiative is reorganizing pavement traders to ensure safe pedestrian passage, and plans are underway to rehabilitate abandoned projects.

Mayor Allotey reaffirmed the AMA's commitment to a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive Accra, urging residents and stakeholders for their support.
