Sekyere East Assembly reshapes feeder roads

The Sekyere East District Chief Executive (DCE), Madam Mary Boatemaa-Marfo, has pledged the assembly’s resolve to go the extra mile to improve feeder roads running across the area.

She said this had been made an urgent priority, adding that, this was key to the success of the planting for food and jobs programme in the district.

The DCE was speaking during an inspection of the on-going rehabilitation of the Asokore-Ntunkumso and Anunya-Naama roads.

She said the goal was to ensure smooth evacuation of food crops maize, plantain, tubers, fruits and vegetables produced in large quantities to the marketing centres.

Madam Boatemaa-Marfo added that the situation where these tended to go waste due to bad roads that made it difficult to transport them from the farming communities could not continue.

She also spoke of plans to put into good shape some town roads including those at Effiduase and Asokore.
