The accident occurred around 1:00 a.m. when the bus, with registration number GT 6557-18, reportedly veered off the road and overturned.

Passengers were trapped in the wreckage, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries. Travellers on other commercial buses stopped to assist with rescue efforts before personnel from the Ghana National Ambulance Service and Police arrived.

The injured passengers were subsequently transported to Kpando Hospital for medical attention.

Preliminary accounts from passengers indicated that the two people feared dead were believed to be a couple travelling to Salaga for a family introduction ceremony. Their deaths had not been officially confirmed in the information available at the scene.
