The operation was greenlit by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, who officially demarcated the boundary before demolition works commenced. Participating agencies included the Assembly’s Taskforce, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Ghana Armed Forces, and the Ghana Police Service.

The exercise, which drew coverage from major media outlets within the region targeted unauthorized structures erected within the Ramsar site, a protected wetland area of ecological significance.
