The agreement was signed by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Musah Abdul Rashid, during a ceremony attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Hiroshi Yoshimoto, officials of the Embassy of Japan, traditional leaders and community members.
Hon. Musah Abdul Rashid thanked the Government of Japan for supporting healthcare delivery in the district, describing the project as a major boost for more than 5,000 residents of Zonyani and surrounding communities who currently rely on a makeshift CHPS facility.
He assured stakeholders that the District Assembly would closely supervise the project to ensure quality work and timely completion, adding that the new facility would improve access to quality primary healthcare for residents.
The CHPS compound is expected to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services and improve health outcomes in Zonyani and neighbouring communities.
