Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly Hosts Two-Day Workshop on Urban Risk-Informed Development Planning

The Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly, in partnership with the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), GIZ, and the Resilience Initiative – Africa, successfully conducted a two-day workshop focused on Urban Risk-Informed Development Planning and Resilience at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in North Ridge, Accra.

The workshop, themed “Building Capacity for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation in Ablekuma Central Municipal District,” attracted a diverse group of key stakeholders, including Heads of Departments, community leaders, youth representatives, chiefs, and imams.

Participants engaged in meaningful discussions aimed at integrating risk reduction and climate adaptation strategies into local planning and community development processes. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance local resilience and promote sustainable urban development within the municipality.
