The presentation formed part of the Assembly's ongoing efforts to address infrastructural challenges facing schools in the district and improve the teaching and learning environment for pupils.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Directorate, the District Director of Education, expressed appreciation to the DCE and the Assembly for the timely intervention, noting that the desks would go a long way to ease the acute shortage of furniture in many basic schools within the district.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Benjamin Marfo assured the Assembly Members and the Education Directorate of his continued commitment and vision to boost education in Amansie Central. He pledged to sustain support for schools with the teaching and learning materials they need to thrive.
"Education remains one of the key priorities of this administration. We will continue to support our schools with the resources they need, because investing in education today means investing in the future of this district," he said.
The DCE urged the Assembly Members to ensure the desks were distributed fairly and reached the schools most in need, while also calling on head teachers and School Management Committees to properly maintain the furniture.
The gesture is part of a broader initiative by the Amansie Central District Assembly to improve educational infrastructure across the district, following similar interventions in the past aimed at addressing furniture shortages, poor sanitation facilities, and other challenges confronting schools in the area.
