MCE engages community in developmental discussions
The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu, Jerryne Asante has begun a tour of the communities under her jurisdiction on August 15, 25, to introduce herself to the chiefs and elders as the President’s representative in the municipality.

It was also to solicit their views on their developmental needs according to their scale of reference and also to thank the populace for voting to elect the NDC party and President John Dramani Mahama in the December 2024 general elections.
She explained that prior to the elections she visited them and is aware of their needs, it is proper to come and thank them for the massive support they gave her and the party during the elections and also for them to affirm their needs in terms of preference.
Nana Kusi Baabu II, chief of Ekyem, Nana Kwame Darkwa the Linguist and elders entreated the MCE to help improve the poor roads network from Ejisu to Ekyem and its town roads especially a bigger covet to improve mobility and inter community connectivity during the rainy season.Nana Kusi Baabu II said the population is growing, and there is the need for expansion of basic social amenities such as completion of the basic school which is only from KG to primary three (3), additional JHS block to contain pupils from surrounding communities, refuse containers to improve sanitation in order to curb breeding of mosquitos and by extension curb malaria cases and improve overall health of the populace.
Nana stated that it would be appreciated if the community health post is upgraded to a clinic for them; and also, complete police post he commenced to improve upon the security issues. But for the meantime, he said street-lighting will go a long way to deter thieves and reduce other criminal activities.
Same needs were echoed at Amoam Achiase. The Gyasihene Nana Owusu Agyemang II who held the fort for Nana Owusu Sekyere, the Chief of Amoam Achiase together with the elders of the community stated their needs similar as those of Ekyem.
They pleaded for the upgrading and taring of the roads, upgrading of the CHIPS COMPOUND to a poly clinic, fence wall and toilet for the community primary school to provide security, refuse containers and early evacuation of the refuse, street lights to prevent crime as well as a police post.
At Akokoamon, Okyeame Adugyamfi Amankwa who sat in for the chief lamented that roads leading to the community and within need urgent fixing as well as renovation of the only basic school in the community built by an NGO stressing the need for extra classroom block and furniture for the school.
The Okyeame and elders urged the MCE to help alleviate their plight so her name can be achieved in history.
MCE on her part assured them that construction work has already begun with the construction of culverts on the Antoa road leading to the Ekyem community.
She however entreated them that while she strives to fix the needs of the communities, the elders and citizenry must also do well do pay their levies especially, building permits among others to enable the assembly get an appreciable common fund to enable her carry out the massive developmental projects in the communities.
