Ejisu MCE urges residents to repose trust in the NDC for continuous development

She said this during her thank you tour of the communities under her jurisdiction to introduce herself to the chiefs and people as the Municipal Chief Executive.
She used the opportunity to engage residents on their developmental needs as the government through the Municipal Assembly prepares to roll out developmental plans as directed through the guidelines that accompanied the release of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
According to her, even though she had fair idea of their needs due to their interactions prior to the elections, it is proper for her to come to them after the elections for confirmation of same or otherwise.
Interacting with the chiefs and people at Adako Jachie, Nana Osei Bosompem III and the queen mother, Nana Sarfowaa Tutuwaa were elated for the MCE’s consideration of them and pledged their support to help her in achieving the developmental goals of the government.
Nana Osei Bosompem III added that for the past 8yrs he has been proving for the needs of the community school and CHIPS Compound single handedly and now he can breathe a sigh of relief as the gov’t takes over.
However, like Oliver Twist, the midwife for the CHIPS compound stated the facility need a generator to help storage of vaccines, while the Chief on behalf of the populace requested for refuse container and early evacuation of the refuse, parchments of potholes on the main roads and toilet for the basic school. Other needs included street lights to prevent crime, which the populace said was a major problem for them as they struggle with phone snatchers and other crime daily.
At Tikrom, the traditional leaders led by the Krontihene, Akoteng Asamoah,complained their major problem was the over filled up refuse container at the refuse site, fencing of the health centre, poor road network linking the community to other towns, street lights to improve security and extension of basic school facilities to accommodate the increasing population of students from the surrounding communities as well as need of community toilet or place of convenience.
Nana Juaben Afrakoma II of Baworo, queen mother together with the Krontihene, Nana Asante Appiah II led the community discussions. They tabled that the renovation of the basic school, the Senior High Technical School, vehicle for the school to help with transportation issues as well as refuse container to refuse collection and management.
Nana Kyei Baffour II is the Adontenghene of Asaaman together with the queen mother numerated the needs of the people. Primary among was the poor road network and potable drinking water which they urged the MCE to attend to as a matter of urgency. In addition, they requested for the provision of refuse container, public toilet and construction of community basic school.
Hon. Jerryne reiterated her call for support for the NDC and promised to she would do all within her power to fulfill the presidents’ vision of development for all and improve economic standards. But disclosed that residents have a role to play; as such urged them to pay their taxes timely.
Meanwhile she entreated that communities should assist the assembly with volunteers who would aid in revenue mobilization such as payments for building permits, and other levies in the communities. For the assembly’s share of the common fund which is used for development is dependent on how much revenue is able to mobilize.
She also entreated residents to reduce prices of their wares as has been the call for some time now due to the cedis appreciation against the dollar.
