Asante-Akim South wins netball competition
The netball team of Asante-Akim South District emerged champions of the Inter-Districts Under 15 Sports Festival held at Offinso in the Ashanti Region.

The victorious team scored 90 goals and conceded 24 to set the record as the highest goal-scoring team in the history of the competition.
They received a giant trophy as their reward.
Mr James Kwasi Sackey, District Physical Education Coordinator, led the victorious team to present the trophy to the District Chief Executive Mr De-Graft Fokuo at his Juaso Office on Thursday.
The Asante-Akim team thrashed their Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly counterparts 20-5 in the final match.
The team has consistently for the past eight years qualified for the semi-finals stage of the competition.
Mr Sackey appealed for more support to enable the team to maintain their dominance and spiking powers.
Four players of the team have been selected to join the Regional Netball team.
Philomena Adutwumwaa, was adjudged the overall best player of the tournament.
Mr Fokuo hailed the sterling performance of the team and assured them of the Assembly's support.
