According to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Kalamu Adamu Musah, the land which had been restored after years of being used as a refuse dump has recently been occupied by some unidentified private developers.

He noted that the assembly, in a bid to halt their activities, is currently engaging traditional authorities to clarify the land’s rightful ownership status, adding that the assembly has identified the land as a suitable location for the construction of an ultra-modern market to benefit the entire community.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com during a Town Hall meeting at the Macedonia Circuit of the Methodist Church in Kwashieman, Mr. Musah emphasized that although funding for the project has already been allocated through the District Assemblies Common Fund, land availability remains a significant obstacle.

He therefore appealed to residents for their cooperation and support as the assembly works to enhance infrastructure and improve living conditions in the municipality.
