CHEREPONI: Chereponi-Yendi road needs tarring-DCD

Transportation on the 116km Chereponi-Yendi road is now lasting travelers who ply it a minimum of three hours to cover the section of that highway because of the untarred nature of the road.
 
The unfortunate condition even gets worse during rainy seasons, where transportation merely becomes a burden with travelers enduring solid five hours just to travel from Chereponi to Yendi.

Residents have continually expressed their sentiments on the state of their roads in general, especially the town roads which have all not been tarred, hence have called for urgent intervention by the Ministry of Roads and Highways to help tar and smoothen the roads to enhance transportation.

The new District Co-ordinating Director for the Assembly, Mr Stephen Aduama Larbi interacting with Ghanadistricts.com conceded the poor nature of their roads, saying the roads needed to be tarred to ease transportation.

According to him, almost every four months particularly in the dry season the Department of Feeder Roads worked on the road, but appealed for a more serious constructional works to end the discomfort of travelling unnecessary hours as a result of the poor state of the road network.

Against this backdrop, he also appealed to development partners to come to the aid of the district to assist it meet the development provisions to boost the quality of life of residents.
