The Ningo Prampram District Assembly, one of the six newly created districts in the Greater Accra Region has convened its maiden general assembly meeting to deliberate on how best to ensure development in the area.

The meeting which is the first of its kind since the inception of the district is also aimed at rolling out the assembly’s proposed programmes, policies and projects to be initiated for the rest of the year.

Mr. Richson Nii Teye Appeyinar, newly confirmed DCE who read a speech on behalf of the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Joseph Nii Larye Afotey Agbo, called on members to assist in the collection of Internally Generated Funds  (IGF) to assist the execution of more projects in the district.

He said, there was the need for members to collaborate with the assembly in the collection of IGF since that is the only alternative source of securing funds to finance its numerous projects even as they are still raising an “infant” district.

According to the Minister, all ongoing project initiated in the area by the Dangbe West District Assembly are expected to be completed and handed over to the new district by 31 December, 2012.

However speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com prior to the meeting, the newly confirmed DCE noted that, he expect massive support from members of the assembly in offering residents quality lives under the implementation of the "Better Ghana" agenda after pulling all 32 valid votes cast to confirm him as the new DCE.
