Residents living in the Kobedi community in the Sunyani West Municipality in the Brong Ahafo Region were full of smiles when a new Community-Based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) centre was inaugurated for them yesterday.

The facility estimated at GHs 65,000 was jointly funded by two non-governmental organizations namely MAP International and Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Idris Buabeng, Country Programme Manager of MAP International branch in Sunyani expressed optimism that the facility would be of maximum benefit to the people since it would help cater for the health needs of the people in the area and its surrounding communities. 

Miss Paulina Babudu, a community health nurse was however posted to operate the centre as resident nurse with immediate effect.
