The assemblyman for Obuasi Electoral Area in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region, Joseph Mensah has appealed to government to expand the community’s health center to help improve health delivery in the area.

The assemblyman for Obuasi Electoral Area in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region, Joseph Mensah has appealed to government to expand the community’s health center to help improve health delivery in the area.

“It will interest you to know that some patients are compelled to sleep on the floor due to inadequate space and beds at the center”. He lamented.

He therefore called on the assembly to as a matter of agency construct new wards to match the increasing demand of the facility. He added that the facility also needs to be renovated since it has not gone under any special renovation after about 15 years of its establishment.

Speaking on educational issues, Mr. Mensah further expressed worry about the bad condition of the Obuasi Presbyterian Primary School, adding the school was currently in infrastructural distress.

The assemblyman further stated that the situation has led to undue overcrowding in some classroom which according him has affected the general performance of students within the school.

He however called on the assembly to put new a classroom block to improve teaching and learning in the community.
