The Paramount Chief of Ada Traditional Area, Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III has conferred an enviable name; “Ode Opieo,” on President Mills during his tour in the Capital City last week.
The name “Ode Opieo,” is a Dangme expression to wit “a man of his words.”
Nene Akuaku III said the name was given to President for fulfilling his campaign promise concerning the construction of a sea defense wall to reduce the effects of the ravaging sea to the area.
Speaking at a durbar organized in his honour, President Mills said the sea had, for a long time, troubled the people of Ada and it is the government’s responsibility to find solution to the problems facing the citizenry.
He asked the people to exercise restraint since there are more of such developmental projects in the pipeline.
President Mills however thanked the Chiefs and people for their massive support for NDC government.
