The Mamprusi East District assembly has developed a new financial policy that assists farmers in the district to produce food on a large scale for future purchase and storage during off seasons.
The policy dubbed ‘Green Banking’ is intended to establish good rapport between banks in the district and large scale farmers to make available ready purchase and storage for excess food produced in the district.
The DCE for the district Adams Morro who disclosed this to Ghanadistricts.com in an interview said the policy has indeed boosted agriculture production in the area since most farmers are now confident of ready market for their produce and do not have to worry about the negative effects of bumper harvest any longer.
On Education, Mr Morro disclosed that the assembly is collaborating with the university of Cape Coast to train workers of the youth employment members in the education sector to improve their skills in the field.
He added that over 200 people have already benefited from the program, while another batch is yet to enroll under the program.
According to the DCE health condition in the district has greatly improved since more health assistants have been posted to the area to augment the existing staff.
Mr. Morro disclosed that his outfit is keen on improving on the sanitation in the district and has therefore partnered with the waste collection companies to aggressively address the challenge with sanitation..
