Six persons are feared to have died in an accident which occured in an intersection close to the Budumburam camp in the Awutu Senya district of  the Central region.

Eye witnesses at the scene explained that the accident was an head on collison involving a tipper truck and gas tanker in the early hours of today.

The gas tanker lost control of its brakes and run into the tipper truck with registration number WR 7616 which was heading towards Winneba.

Two persons died on the spot whilst three who sustained severe injuries have been sent to a near by hospital.

The drivers of the two vehicles survived and are being questioned at the police station whilst the police and the Fire Service are working in earnest to clear the road for traffic to flow.
