The Rotary Club of Accra East has handed over eight boreholes fitted with pumps to five communities in the South Akwapim area as part of the Rotary Year 2008-2009 "Make Dreams Real" project.

The communities are Kitase, Ahwerease and Obosomase, while the others were drilled at the Mampong School for the Death, and the Teenage mother’s training centre in Abiriw.

The move,which formed part of the club’s social responsibility programme, is also geared towards the forthcoming Polio Immunisation programme from this month.

The projects were presented to the communities at separate durbars .

The chiefs and elders of the communities, who received the projects on behalf of their people, expressed their gratitude to the club and its international partners, the Rotary club of Fort Collins, Colorado, both in the USA for the generous gifts to the communities.

The immediate past president of the club, Mr Yaw Assah Sam encouraged members of the communities to handle the projects with care.
