The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly has organised a massive clean up exercise at Tarkwa to rid the municipality of filth.

The exercise which was led by the Environmental Health Department of the assembly headed by Mr. Gyekye Mensah, was sponsored by the Ghana Managenese Company Limited and SGS Laboratories which donated tools like wheel-barrows, wellington boots, rakes, hand brushes, brooms etc to the assembly.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs Christian Kobinah, said programmes of such nature would be orgainised regularly in various communities in the municipality so as to prevent malaria and other environmental related diseases.

She hinted that the assembly would soon embark on the demolition of all unauthorised structures in order to decongest the town to ensure free movement of vehicles and people.
The assembly, she said, would strictly enforce its bye-laws to bring sanity and order on the roads.
