The Birim South District Assembly as part of the vision of the president to make our cities and towns clean, has distributed dustbins along the streets of major towns in the district to discourage people from littering the street and the environment.

According to him, despite the positive response, the assembly is to intensify public sensitization to ensure the entire citizenry accept the new development and abide by it.

And for effective management, Zoomlion operatives go round to empty the dustbins every morning to ensure waste dust not overflow the bins and litter the environment.

Mr. Amposah assured that, the more would be extended to other communities after careful assessment of its success in the major towns.

So far, over 45 dustbins have been distributed in the major towns and this has already reduced the littering of the streets, the DCE stated.
