Personnel from the Police Service, Ghana Education Service (GES), district health workers, Tain FM, local barbers and mechanics took part in the maiden gala which was eventually won by the Tain local FM after putting up a splendid performance.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, Madam Oforiwaa Dwommoh, noted that the gala was aimed at creating unity among the youth and also to encourage them to live in peace notwithstanding their political affiliations.

The tournament, she stressed, was among other sporting activities, outlined by the assembly to go a long way to unearth talents in the district to feed the various football clubs and Ghana’s national teams.

According to her, it is the responsibility of every leader to identify potentials in his /her area and utilized them prudently for the development of the area.

She advised the youth to be discipline in order to enable the assembly harness their talent to help develop the game of football in the district and the nation as a whole.

She further made known the current NPP government’s desire to develop grassroot sports, especially, football in order to unearth talents and create more jobs for the teaming unemployed youth.
