Ms Afegbedzi managed to secure the two-thirds mandatory votes cast by assembly members to confirm after her third attempt.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Ishmael Ashittey, who represented the President thanked the Assembly members for endorsing the nominee and urged them to work as a group to help achieve a common goal.

On her part, Madam Afegbedzi expressed appreciation for the opportunity granted her to serve her Municipality and assured that with her team, she would endeavor to engage stakeholders to ensure the rapid development of the Municipality.

She appealed to the Assembly Members to rally behind her to ensure that the assembly’s vision of improving livelihoods and eradicating poverty are fully realized.
