A Boost for Farmers: MCE Distributes Oil Palm Seedlings

The initiative saw the distribution of over 15,000 oil palm seedlings to farmers throughout the district.
The distribution event, took place at the Department of Agriculture's forecourt. This effort is part of the government's larger plan to encourage the cultivation of cash crops, aiming to create stable income streams for farmers.
During his address, Mr. Sedik emphasized the government's dedication to supporting farmers. He highlighted the provision of modern agricultural resources, improved seedlings, and expert guidance, all geared towards boosting crop yields and strengthening food security.
"This project is about more than just supporting our dedicated farmers," The MCE explained. "It's about securing our district's economic future through agricultural business. We anticipate that oil palm farming will generate employment opportunities, supply essential materials for industries, and contribute to reducing poverty within our communities."
The farmers who benefited from this initiative expressed their appreciation to the government and the DCE for the timely assistance. They recognized the potential of this support to significantly improve their livelihoods and invigorate the local economy.
