Talensi Assembly Highlights Health Infrastructure Projects and Interventions for 2025–2026

The Talensi District Assembly has outlined its investments in healthcare infrastructure and service delivery as part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare across the district.

Through various projects and interventions undertaken between 2025 and 2026, the Assembly has focused on expanding healthcare facilities, improving existing infrastructure and creating better working conditions for health professionals.

Among the completed projects are the Tindongo and Kulpeliga Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, which are expected to bring essential healthcare services closer to residents in the beneficiary communities.

The Assembly has also completed the construction and furnishing of a 20-bed Children’s Ward at the Tongo Hospital to improve healthcare delivery for children. In addition, the Wakii CHPS Compound has been renovated, while the Doctor’s Bungalow at Tongo Hospital has also been renovated to accommodate a newly posted doctor.

Other healthcare infrastructure projects currently underway include the construction of CHPS compounds at Nungu, Dapoore and Sawaliga, as well as a CHPS compound and nurses’ accommodation at Shia.

Beyond infrastructure development, the Assembly has supported the inauguration of the District Health Committee, alongside the annual HIV/AIDS Day celebration and related public sensitisation activities.

These interventions form part of the Assembly’s efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improve access to essential medical services and support effective healthcare delivery throughout the district.

The Talensi District Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to investing in healthcare and improving the well-being of residents through sustained development initiatives.
