The YCAF Round Two was launched on January 23, 2025 followed by radio and social media announcements.
To further publicize the initiative, the KMA has been visiting schools to sensitize the youth and prepare them for climate change campaigns.
The sensitization team comprises personnel from the Public Relations Unit, Physical Planning Unit, Central Administration, and Environmental Health Unit.
The team continued their sensitization efforts by visiting St. Lwanga Junior High School (JHS)/Martyrs of Uganda Preparatory School and Owass Basic School.
Having managed the initial fund effectively, the KMA has qualified for an additional $100,000 from their partners Bloomberg Philanthropies Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University UCLG to support youth groups in developing innovative ideas and solutions to address climate change.
Interested students within the age bracket were told to visit the KMA's official website:www.kma.gov.gh to download the application forms for free.
Completed forms were advised to be submitted via info@kma.gov.gh or in person to the Development Planning Unit of KMA by Friday, February 21, 2025.
The team urged the youth to take advantage of the fund while contributing to efforts to address the climate change menace.
