In their quest to lower barriers that girls face in education, and also work towards improving the lives of women and children in the municipality, ICDP is organising a Formal Training for girls aged between 10 to 14 years, and Non Formal Training for girls aged between 14 to 19 years, who for one reason or the other dropped out of school.

The purpose of this is to bring Gender Equality and Social Inclusion for the participants. The programme was therefore organised for these girls, as well as some women in the various communities.

The Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development educated participants on rights of women and children. She reiterated that it was vital that as women and children, we know our rights in order to be treated fairly and equally with our male counterparts.

The programme saw a total of sixty-five (65) participants made up of sixty-three (63) females and two (2) males who are Assembly Members.
