Ejura S: MCE distributes cashew seedlings to farmers

The Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alhaji Mohammed Salisu Bamba has distributed 146,800 cashew seedlings to 1,835 farmers to be planted on 3,670 acres to ensure that farmers in the Municipality are not left out of government’s flagship ‘Planting for Export and rural Development programme.

Last year the assembly at a similar event distributed 60,000 cashew seedlings to farmers.

The MCE in his address noted that, the PERD initiative forms part of government’s flagship programmes which was launched by President Akufo-Addo to promote and add value to the Agricultural Sector.


Alhaji Bamba appealed to the farmers to ensure that they take good care of the plants and urged the public to take advantage of the programme to register and get the seedlings.


He added that the farmers would be monitored and supervised by the District Agriculture Extension officers to ensure that the seeds are planted properly.
