The absence of water has compelled residents to resort to the use of unhygienic water sources including dug out wells, ponds and gutters for washing, bathing and other domestic uses.
Mr. Mawuli Agbeve, an Electrical Operator at the Kadjebi Water Company, said that the intermittent power outage had damaged their pumping machine leading to the shut-down of their operations.
He said fortunately, they had been able to procure a new machine and that the Engineers were currently fixing it and urged the residents to stay calm, assuring them that water would flow through their pipes.
Ms Justine Amegatse, a resident of Cocoa Market, said that the relevance of the resource could not be overemphasised, as she had to depend on borehole water for her fish mongering business, which was tiresome and time-consuming.
Ms Amegatse appealed to the authorities to speed up work on fixing the problem to restore potable water to the affected areas.
Miss Musimebia Donkor, a student resident of Martin Kordzi, said due to the problem, she had to go looking for water on a daily basis for domestic use which often caused her to be late for school.
Miss Nusimebia appealed to the authorities to help restore water to the areas to avoid an outbreak of waterborne diseases.
