DCE congratulate farmers for their immense contribution towards the development of the District
The Sekyere Central District Assembly has celebrated Farmer’s Day at Nkujua to reward deserving and hard-working farmers for their efforts.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area Mr. Benjamin Kingsley Koduah congratulated the farmers for their immense contributions towards the development of the District and the country as a whole.
He said as Ghana is celebrating the 37th Farmers’ Day, there is the need for the government to celebrate the day to award farmers with goodies since they play a critical role to make the nation attain foodstuffs to feed the citizenry.
He stressed that agriculture remains the mainstay of Ghana’s economy adding that the government is working hard to ensure the country becomes self-sufficient in food production.
The DCE thanked the farmers for the good work they are doing for the District and Ghana at large and urged all the farmers to implement all education which will be given to them by the extension officers.
At the end of the colorful ceremony, 29- year old Kofi Anane from Atonsu was adjudged the overall District best farmer.
Mr. Anane has 300 acres of maize and vegetables, poultry farm with 2000 birds, livestock, snail, grasscutter and rabbit farms respectively.
He was given a brand new tricycle (Aboboyaa), radio set, cutlasses, spraying machines, wellington boots and others.
Present at the durbar were Nana Boamah Kwabi IV and entourage, the Member of Parliament for the Mrs. Adelaide Yaa Agyeiwaa Ntim, Assembly members, Heads of department of the Assembly, Nananom Akuafuo and others.
