Daffiama Bussie Issa to benefit from agriculture programme
The Daffiama Bussie Issa District Assembly in the Upper West Region is to benefit from the Planting for Export and Rural Development programme this year.

The programme was instituted by the Government last year to reduce poverty, create jobs and increase food supply.
Mr. Nadi Sanda Imoro, the District Chief Executive of Daffiama Bussie Issa, made this known to Ghanadistricts.com that the District is expected to cultivate about 10,000 acres of cashew this year and more than 4,000 farmers are expected to take part in the programme district wide.
Mr. Sanda Imoro said the Planting for Food and Jobs was one of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s flagship programmes being implemented to bring innovative and modernize agriculture methods to farmers to improve production.
He said the programme had come to stay and urged the Assembly members to inform farmers in their various electoral areas about the ongoing registration exercise by extension officers of the Department.
He said it was prudent for the farmers to take advantage of the massive benefits associated with the programme to enhance their living standards.
Mr. Nadi indicated that, he has established a cashew nursery at Bussie, so that the assembly can support farmers with the seedlings to be able to meet the District's target, field enumerators were trained to register farmers in every community in the district.
The assembly is pleased to notice that many farmers all across the district have registered to cultivate cashew under this project, he indicated.
