ASANTE A S:Distribution of 750,000 cocoa seedlings begins

The Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly is making good its quest to improve cocoa production in the municipality to boost economic activities and improve the fortunes of the farmers and the assembly.

This is evident in the commencement of distribution of 750,000 cocoa seedlings raised by the Assembly to farmers in the Municipality.

The distribution started last week with a durbar attended by chiefs, the people, and assembly staff at Tokwai Odumase.

The project which is expected to benefit more than 50 communities is jointly financed by the Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly through its share of the District Assembly Common Fund and COCOBOD.



For a start, ten communities has benefited so far, Juaso, Obogu, Adomfe, Dwendwenase, payase, Akurafitaa, Tokwai Asuboi, Asugya, Atta ne Atta and Ningo.

The chiefs and people hailed the MCE for his commitment to development and urged him and the assembly to continue to deliver to ensure accelerated development of the municipality.
